The goal of this iteration was to achieve a cl_da of over 0.1. The elevator and ailerons were resized and a cl_da of 0.129 was achieved. This improved the previous cl_da by a factor of 2.5x. While normally this is a large jump, one of the issues that the previous plane faced was low aileron authority which this fixes.
The goal of this iteration was to design a monoplane that improved parameters found through last years competitive plane. Overall, cL_a was improved by about 3%, and stability derivatives were approximately doubled. Additionally, through simulations, this aircraft could theoretically score higher in our competition than the previous year.
The goal was to analyze all possible combinations of propulsion sysyem and evaulate their proformance. To maximize the flight score the motor that reaches the threshold with the least amount of weight was chosen.
